Aubrey Peeples is an American actress and singer. She received the best recognition for her role as Layla Grant in the drama series Nashville (2012) and Claudia Shepard in Sharknado (2013). She also played the lead role of Jerrica “Jem” Benton in the film Jem and the Holograms (2015).
Career
Aubrey Peeples grew up in Lake Mary, Florida, by parents Wendy and Ashley. She has a younger sister, Ally. While growing up, Aubrey performed with the Orlando Repertory Theatre for ten years. She graduated from Lake Mary Preparatory School, where she was valedictory speaker of the class of 2012. Harvard University accepted her but agreed on entry twice, the second time to accept her role in Nashville.
Peeples guest-starred in Drop Dead Diva (2009), Burn Notice (2007), Austin & Ally (2011), Grey’s Anatomy (2005), and had a recurring role in Necessary Roughness (1991). She appeared in made for television movies Ace Ventura Jr.: Pet Detective (2009) and The Good Mother.
She joined the cast in a major recurring role in a second season of the drama series Nashville, where she played Layla Grant. In 2019, Peeples talked about having bipolar disorder in an interview with NKD Magazine. Indiewire named Peeples as one of the best actors under the age of twenty in September 2014.
