William Paxton (May 17, 1955 – February 25, 2017) in Fort Worth, Texas, U.S. He was an American actor, director, and musician.
He studied at Richmond College in England and graduated from Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth.
Career
Paxton is best known for his role in the comedy film Weird Science (1985). He starred in the science fiction film Aliens (1986). His popular films, including Predator 2 (1990), The Circle (2017), 2 Guns (2013), and Morgan Earp in Tombstone (1993).
As a director, he released the psychological film Frailty (2001) and the sports biopic The Greatest Game Ever Played (2005). He also starred in the drama Big Love (2006–2011, TV series), and Training Day (2017, TV series). He was a regular collaborator for James Cameron, a director, featuring in 5 of the director’s 10 films.
Paxton began his acting career and performed minor roles in films. Including as a punk in Terminator (1984) and as a bartender in Streets of Fire (1984). He collaborated with the filmmaker James Cameron again on Titanic’s (1997) first film to reach the billion-dollar record.
In 1987, he won the Saturn Awards Best Supporting Actor for the film Aliens (1986). In 1996, he won the Screen Actors Guild for Outstanding Performance for the film Apollo 13 (1995). Fred Durst dedicated the psychological horror film The Fanatic (2019) to Paxton, co-starred by his son James Paxton, directed and co-written.
