Constance Marie is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Angie Lopez in George Lopez (2002–07) and Marcela Quintanilla (mother of Selena) in the biographical musical drama film Selena (1997). She portrayed Regina Vasquez in the family drama series Switched at Birth (2011–2017). In the Amazon Prime Video drama series Undone, she is playing the role of Camila Diaz.
Constance Marie appeared as a dancer in the musical Cosmopolis by composer Ryuichi Sakamoto in Japan at age 19. When she returned to Los Angeles, a dance choreographer spotted at a club for actor David Bowie and worked for the Glass Spider Tour in 1987.
Marie began her acting career when she was a teen. She landed a spot in Boaz Davidson’s 1988 film Salsa. Her other popular televisions and film credits include Early Edition (1996), Dirty Dancing (1987 ), Selena (1997), Spin City (1996), and Ally McBeal (1997). She starred Yolanda in the comedy-drama film Tortilla Soup (2001) alongside Héctor Elizondo, Jacqueline Obradors, and Elizabeth Peña. She also appeared in the drama series American Family (2002).
In October 2007, she started her own clothing line, The Constance Marie Collection. She appeared in an ad for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, encouraging people to have their pets neutered. In 2004, she earned the Best Actress in Television Comedy for her work in George Lopez. She received a nomination for Best Actress in Television Drama called American Family in 2004.
