Darren Chen aka Kuan Hong is a Taiwanese actor and model. He is best known for his television roles in Meteor Garden (2018), My Unicorn Girl, The Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty (2020), No Boundary season 1 (2021), and No Boundary season 2 (2021).
Career
Darren Chen completed his education at the Taipei Municipal Heping High School in Taiwan. In 2016, Chen made his acting debut in the series Proud of Love (2016) and its sequel.
In 2017, Chen rose to fame after joining the cast in the role of Huaze Lei by Angie Chai in the 2018 adaptation of Meteor Garden, based on the Japanese shōjo manga series Boys Over Flowers, which Yoko Kamio wrote. He appeared in Harper’s Bazaar China with his Meteor Garden co-stars Dylan Wang, Connor Leong, and Caesar Wu in the November issue.
In 2018, he made his big-screen debut with a guest appearance in the romance comedy film Oversize Love (2020). In 2019, Chen joined the cast in his first leading role in the historical mystery drama The Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty, which Jackie Chan produced.
The series premiered on April 1, 2020. Also in 2020, he starred in the youth sports drama My Unicorn Girl. In 2021, Darren Chen starred in the drama series No Boundary and No Boundary Season 2.
