Demet Evgar is a Turkish actress who is mainly known for the roles she played in television series and feature films. She also marked her identity theatre career where she made a debut. She has worked in numerous films and given outstanding performances. She worked in “1 Kadin 1 Erkek” which was a comic series comprised of 8 seasons. In “Vatanim Sensin”, she appeared as a guest star as Kara Fatma.
She was born on 19th May 1980, Manisa, Turkey where she raised and grew up with siblings and parents. Her paternal family belongs to an Albanian origin. While the other part of her family is of Muslim Ottoman descent migrated from Thessaloniki, now it is a part of Greece. She has a brother named Yigit Evgar, who works as a director.
Demet Evgar made her career in Turkish theatre, cinema, and television. She studied from Istanbul University, Turkey, and had a passion for acting at an early age.
Career
At the age of 17, she started her acting career with the novice theatre group named “Afsem Theatre”. She gave her first stage appearance in the Ray Cooney Play named “It runs in the family”. While studying, she formed a theatre group along with her friends and named it “Tiyatro Kilcik”. In the theatre group, she worked as an actress and also worked as a playwriter. Yes… her skills are not limited to just acting, but she is such a great writer.
Later, she performed at the well-known “Kenter Theatre” where she took part in the play named “The Blue Room” and also gave award-winning performances in classic plays, such as; “Anna Karenina”, Cimri” and “39 Basamak”. Also, she worked in local productions at her own established theatre group named “Tiyatro Kilcik”.
In 2007, the Turkish beauty worked in the stage production named “Rock Musical”. Later, she performed at the “Pangar Theatre”, which was formed in 2012 by her. Among notable works, she performed in “Macbeth” and “King Lear”. Alongside this, she portrayed various complex roles for which she got immense love and praise from fans.
Apart from this, she appeared in many television shows including “Asli ile Kerem”, “Butun Cocuklarim”, Emret Komutanim” and others. Also, she has worked in movies, such as; ‘Banoy’, ‘Gunesi Gordum’,’Yahsi Bati’, and others. However, her extraordinary skills helped her to build her career and she got received several awards and honors.
Some of her awards, Best Actress in Theatre for ‘King Lear’, Best Supporting Actress for ‘Anna Karenina’, Best Actress for ‘Geve Mevsimi’, and the list goes on.

Among several awards and honors, Demet Evgar won the “Best Comedy TV Series Actress” at 37th Golden Butterfly Awards which was held in 2010. Also, she won the Best Actress in Comedy” at the 23rd Sadri Alisik Theatre and Cinema Awards held in 2018.
