Devan is an Indian film and television actor who works in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam cinema and holds a special identity in the cinematic world. And you will be amazed to know that he made his career in politics. Yes… he is a great politician as well.
He was born on 5th May 1954, Thrissur, India, born to Sreenivasan and Lalitha. His father was a public prosecutor and a mother was a housewife. He got his primary education from Government Model Higher Secondary School. Later, he did B.Sc from St.Thomas College, and afterward, he did Masters in Business Administration.
Career
Initially, Devan started his career as a producer and worked in the Malayalam film industry. His first production was “Vellam” which was released in 1985, but after a heavy loss, he started acting in various movies.
When he took a step into the movies as an actor, he played supporting roles. A producer approached him at Spencer Plaza in Chennai, India. After appearing in movies, he gave some hit movies which became popular. While some of his notable movies are “Baasha”, “Indraprasdhan” and “Ekalavyan”.
Apart from this, he made appearances on television series and made a broad career working on television.
Also, he represented the Kerala People’s Party as a leader, which is a political party in the Indian state of Kerala.
After playing supporting roles and also the second hero, he then worked as a lead actor in various movies including “Oru Minnaminungnite”.
In 1987, he appeared in “Oozham”. “Simon Peter Ninakku Vendi” was released in 1988 and in the same year, he gave another hit movie named “Aranyakam”.
While some of his other hit movies as a lead actor are “Vietnam Colony” which was released in 1992, “Ekalavyan” in 1993, “Honest Raj” was released in 1994, “Baasha” was released in 1995 and “Indraprasdhan” was released in 1996.
