Eric Anthony Roberts (born on April 18, 1956) in Biloxi, Mississippi, U.S. He is an American actor.
Career
He began his acting career in 1974. Roberts first performed a leading role in the drama film King of the Gypsies (1978), for which he received his first Golden Globe Award nomination in 1979. He again received recognition at the Golden Globes for his role in the biographical drama film Star 80 (1983). His performance as prison escapee Buck McGeehy in the independent action thriller film Runaway Train (1985). The film earned him a third Golden Globe salute. He received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He has a younger sister named Julia Roberts, an actress. In a career extending over 40 years, he has collected over 609 credits, including the drama film Raggedy Man (1981), action thriller film, The Specialist (1994). Robert has also appeared in Christopher Nolan’s superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). He appeared in Stallone’s action film The Expendables (2010) as James Munroe. Also, he appeared as Dr. Holst in the drama film Head Full of Honey (2018). Robert’s equally varied television work includes three seasons as Will Butler with the sitcom Less than Perfect (2002-2006, TV series) as well as The Young and the Restless (1973, TV series). He is the only non-UK actor to play The Master in the science fiction Doctor Who (1963) television movie (1996, TV Movie).
