Career
Atkinson is best known for her role in Hollyoaks (2001–2005, TV series). Its three sequels are Hollyoaks: After Hours (2004), Hollyoaks: Let Loose (2005), and Hollyoaks: In the City (2006). She has also appeared in Casualty (2011–2012, 2014, TV series).
In recent years, she starred in Emmerdale (2015–2017, TV series). She took her General Certificate of Secondary Education at Castlebrook High School, Bury. She appeared in the horror film 13Hrs (2010). Atkinson has also performed the lead role in the comedy film How to Stop Being a Loser (2011).
In 2007, she took part in the Celebrity MasterChef competition. Also in 2007, she appeared in the seventh season of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! (2002) in Australia. She will publish her The Ultimate Body Plan for New Mums: 12 Weeks to Finding You Again, fitness and recipe book.
