Gregory Alan Williams as known as Gregalan Williams is an American actor and author who is best known for playing such iconic roles like LAPD Officer Garner Ellerbee in Baywatch (1989). From 2011 to 2013, he took on the character of Coach Pat Purnell in Necessary Roughness (USA Network). Williams has appeared in various TV shows such as Secrets and Lies (2015), Manhunt: Unabomber (2017), and The Righteous Gemstones (2019).
Williams graduated from East High School and went on to attend Coe College. Before acting, he served in the United States Marine Corps while his journey for acting began in 1988 alongside Steven Seagal in Above the Law (1988).
Williams is a well known author, with four books to his name, A Gathering of Heroes: Reflections on Rage and Responsibility: A Memoir of the Los Angeles Riots is one of his works which pretty much tells about his life, encounters with racism, and a heroic act during the 1992 Los Angeles race riots. His contributions extend to hosting the syndicated series Know Your Heritage and Know Your Heritage: Black College Quiz.
