Jason Statham is an English actor and filmmaker. Throughout his career, he has frequently performed his own stunts and combat scenes. Jason began practicing kung FU, karate, and kickboxing in his growing years while working at local market stalls. He also had a passion for diving and football and was nominated by Britain’s local diving squad to compete in the Commonwealth Games 1990. After being scouted by modeling agencies, he modeled for Tommy Hilfiger, French Connection, and Levi’s in various advertising campaigns. Statham’s previous work experience in market stalls inspired his casting in Guy Ritchie’s crime movies Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch.
Statham’s success in these movies led to his breakout role as Frank Martin in The Transporter (movies, 1, 2, 3), followed by appearances in numerous other action and heist films such as Crank, The Italian Job, The Bank Job, War, Spy, The Mechanic, and Mechanic: Resurrection. He later achieved critical and commercial success in The Expendables and Fast and Furious franchises, portraying Deckard Shaw character in multiple films.
