Syeda Mehr Bano Kazim is professionally known as Juggan or Jay Kazim. She is a Pakistani born Canadian actress who has worked in various Pakistani as well as Canadian films. She is also a well-known television host and a famous YouTube personality. She was born on 7th January 1980 in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. She belongs to a Kashmiri Punjabi well-educated Muslim family. Kazim Raza Kazim who is a lawyer, as well as a supporter of the arts, is her uncle. Whereas, Nasim Zehra, a well-known journalist is her aunt. She has two siblings an elder sister and a younger brother. Her father’s name is Syed Abbas Kazim and her mother is Ghazala Saigol. Unfortunately, when she was just at the age of a year, her parents were separated. She had a keen interest in the Media Arena since her childhood.
She was the student of Kinnaird College, Canada where she completed secondary education and then joint the King’s College, Canada, for the pursuit of a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media. Kazim also holds a Cisco Certified Network Associate certification.
She got married in 2004 to Ahmed Tajik, who met her in her friend’s wedding ceremony, after returning back from Canada. The couple had also blessed with a son, Hamza. Unfortunately, she got divorced after one year. She claimed that Ahmed beat her. She took the custody of Hamza who was just two months old at that time. She got her second marriage to Feisal H Naqvi on 27 June 2013, with whom she has another son, Hassan.
Career Journey
Kazim has started her media career since at the age of four years in 1985 with an advertisement for Samsonite. After the passage of time, she acted in her first commercial at the age of fourteen which was directed by Mashal Peerzada, now they are best friends.
However, Syeda Mehrbano Kazim started her professional career as “Juggan Kazim”, when she got a chance to work as model and Sutherland Models was approached her.
Kazim made her first film debut as a lead role of Gugan in an Asian-American Gaurav Seth’s film “Pink Ludoos” in 2004 alongside a well-known actress Shaheen Khan. This film tells about a Sikh family in Canada. She has also appeared in the T.W. Peacock directed an episode of David Wellington’s Canadian television drama series “The Eleventh Hour” which aired on CTV. She has portrayed the lead and the title role in the humane play “Tara” which was produced by Rasik Arts and directed by Sally Jones.
She has also appeared in numerous stage productions in her home town as well as in Toronto. Juggan after playing in the two music videos with Sutherland was approached by Newton Landry Management, who remains her Canadian agent. Kazim has hosted her own television show at the age of sixteen years until she left Pakistan.
When she came back to Pakistan, she started hosting in a television show “Beanbag” on 24 News channel which was also conceived and written by herself. Up to date, she has hosted a number of shows for various Pakistani channels. Kazim became the Brand Ambassador of a French personal care company “L’Oréal’s” for their Garnier Fructis Pakistan brand of hair and skin-care products in March 2010.
Kazim made her Lollywood debut in Altaf Hussain’s film “Khamosh Raho” opposite Shaan Shahid in 2011. After that, she played in another Mirza’s film “Silent Cinema” starring opposite Mohib Mirza, Sanam Baloch, and Sunita Marshall.
She has also made her television debut in many TV dramas like “Saiqa opposite Mechaal Zulfikar an Ahsan Khan” which is a soap opera drama directed by Asim Ali and released in 2009 on Hum TV channel. This drama based on a famous novel of the same, written by Razia Butt. This serial is a love story of a boy. Another famous drama is the “Vasal” alongside Ahsan Khan, Ayesha Khan, and Adnan Siddiqui. This is the story of a happy family who settled in the USA.
