Katie Leclerc is a famous American actress and producer. She has appeared on TV series, including Veronica Mars (2005), Fashion House (2006), and The Big Bang Theory (2011-17). In 2011, she joined the cast in the television show Switched at Birth (2011-17), starring Daphne Vasquez.
Katie Leclerc grew up in Lakewood, Colorado. She is of Canadian origin and is the youngest of three siblings. She studied American Sign Language at 17 before she found out she had Ménière’s disorder, which leads to hearing loss. Her older sister also lectures American Sign Language. Because her father and older sister have Ménière’s disorder as well.
She discovered her enthusiasm for acting in seventh grade when she got the lead role in a production of Annie. She then moved to San Diego, to pursue theatre at Valley Center High School and took part in commercials for Pepsi, Cingular, Comcast, and GE.
In 2009, she appeared as Ally in the drama film Flying By and Minka in the sports film Round of Your Life in 2019. She earned TwoCents TV Award for Drama Queens for her performance in Switched at Birth. In 2011, Katie Leclerc received Teen Choice Awards for Choice Breakout Star for her work in Switched at Birth and Indie Series Award for Best Guest Star – Comedy nominations for My Synthesized Life in 2014.
