1. Born In Lowa
Gurira was born in the United States but raised in Zimbabwe. She moved from Iowa to Zimbabwe with her parents when she was five years old, and the country has since become an important part of her identity. In fact, she has written a trilogy of plays about growing up as a woman in Zimbabwe. [1]
