Hulya Darcan Korel is a Turkish actress, who got famous for portraying the role of Hayme Hatun, Ertu?rul’s mother, in the historical series Dirili?: Ertu?rul, a Tv series based on the Ottoman Empire history, from 2014 to 2019. 1. An Educated Person

She had completed her primary education at the Karatas Anatolian High School and graduated from Istanbul University.

2. The Start Of Her Acting Career

Not many are aware of how she entered the entertainment industry.  In 1967, at the age of 16 when she took part in the Ses Mecmuas? cover star contest, one of the famous magazines of that era, and got 3rd position. After this, she started receiving offers for films.

3. A Fortunate Debut Performance

Hulya has remained very fortunate in her professional domain. She played the lead role with Fikret Hakan, Ekrem Bora and Tugay Toksöz, superstars of the 60s and 70s in her first film Silahlar? Ellerinde Öldüler. After that, she shared the leading roles with important actors in the majority of the films she took part in. ^[1]

4. Her Soulmate

She married Tanju Korel, whom she met in 1971, and tied the knot in 1974. She also did many films with her husband. They had two children, Zeynep  and Bergüzar Korel.

5. Biggest Tragedy Of Her Life

She had led a happily married life with the love of her life and husband Tanju Korel and would have continued living that way but fate had something else planned for the couple. Her husband died in 2005,  due to his illness.

6. Took Some Personal Space

After doing back-to-back Films and Television shows, Hulya realized that she needed a break. She took a break in the 6th year of her acting career, and came back to the spotlight, with more dedication than before in 1990, with the Black Diamond series made for television.
