1. Was A Football Player

As he entered his twenties, John David took a break from acting. He ran for Morehouse College, where he set both the school and conference rushing records. He piqued the interest of the NFL, and he signed as an undrafted free agent with the St. Louis Rams in 2006. ^[1]

2. Injured His Achilles Tendon

In 2013, he injured his Achilles tendon. This injury ended his football career just as he was getting ready to try out for the New York Giants. On the plus side, it helped him refocus on acting, and the rest, as they say, is history.
