1. His Parents Leave Him When He Was Just A Kid

Pierce Brosnan’s life was far from a fairytale from the start. Brosnan was a newborn when his father abandoned him on May 16, 1953, in Ireland. When he was four years old, he lost another parent: his mother, Margaret Pierce, abandoned him to seek work in London, leaving him in the care of his grandparents. ^[1]

2. His Step Father Brought Him To Play James Bond

Brosnan and his mother reconciled when he was 11 years old. Brosnan’s entire world was turned upside down when she brought him to Scotland. He not only had a new home, but he also acquired a new stepfather, William Carmichael. Carmichael, in fact, was the one who took him to see his first James Bond picture, Goldfinger. ^[2]

8. Stitches On His Face

During the filming of “Tomorrow Never Dies,” Brosnan needed eight stitches in his face. In one shot, a stuntman’s helmet accidentally hit him in the face. Later, they had to shoot the film with only one side of his face visible.
