Olivia Rodrigo is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She is also known as Olivia Isabel Rodrigo, was born on February 20, 2003, in Murrieta, California, USA. Her father was a family therapist of Filipino heritage, while her mother was a teacher of German and Irish ancestry. She began taking singing and acting lessons at an early age and started writing songs a few years later.
In 2015, Rodrigo won the lead role in i.e., An American Girl: Grace Stirs Up Success series. The next year, she was cast as Paige Olvera on the Disney Channel TV show Bizaardvark. After the show ended in 2019, She began starring on Disney’s High School Musical: The Musical—The Series, where she wrote and performed several songs, including i.e., All I Want, Just for a Moment, which she sang and wrote with co-star Joshua Bassett.
In 2021, Olivia Rodrigo released her debut single, Drivers License. The song quickly rose to the top of the Billboard Top 100, making her the youngest person to ever top that chart. It also broke Spotify records for most streams of a non-holiday song in a day and in a week. Her second single, Deja Vu, debuted at number eight on the Billboard Top 100, making her the first singer to have her first two singles debut in the top 10 on that chart. These songs were included on her first album, Sour (2021), which features a blend of pop, folk, and alternative rock influences.
She has been recognized for her work, winning the Grammy Award for Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance for Drivers License, and Best Pop Vocal Album for Sour at the 2022 Grammy Awards.
