Pooja Bedi is a former actress, who has worked in the Bollywood film and entertainment industry. She worked as a host, TV presenter, and newspaper columnist. She was born on 11th May 1970, Mumbai, India, and the daughter of the famed actor Kabir Bedi and her late mother, Protima Bedi (classical dancer). Pooja Bedi has acted in various movies and appeared on many TV shows including Bigg Boss in the year 2011.
Career
Pooja Bedi worked in Bollywood movies from 1991 to 1995 and has appeared in many movies, commercials and advertisement campaigns. She is known for the Kama Sutra Condom campaign which was used to raise awareness.
Also, she acted in various plays including “Carry On Papa”, “Wow What a Girl” and others are worth sharing.
In 1991, she made her debut film “Vishkanya” directed by Jag Mundhra. In 1992, she appeared in the movie “Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar” featuring Amir Khan, Ayesha Jhalka, and others. While some of her other movies are “Lootere” released in 1993, “Aatank Hi Aatank” released in 1995 and others are worth watching.
In 2000, she compiled and edited the biography of her late mother Protima Bedi. Moreover, she has worked as a columnist in different newspapers, such as; Hindustan Times, Times of India, and Mid Day. She has a number of publications in print media for which she gained huge popularity.
In 2005, she took part in the dance reality show “Nach Baliye” alongside Hanif Halal. In 2006, she took part in another dance reality show “Jhalak Dikhla Jaa-1” and also appeared in various other shows including “Fear Factor-Khatron Ka Khiladi”, “Big Brother”, “Bigg Boss” and others.
Achievements
Among various achievements, she won the nomination of the Filmfare Award for the category of Best Supporting Actress for the movie “Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar” in 1993.
