Tiger Prabhakar, also known as Kannada Prabhakar was an Indian film actor and known for his amazing work in Telugu and Kannada film industries. Also, he worked in Tamil, Malayam, and Hindi cinema. He is mainly known for his negative roles. He was born on 30th March 1950, India. His skills are not limited to just acting, but he is blessed with direction and composing skills that won millions of hearts.
In the mid of 1980s, he had a bike accident and due to sustained injuries, he suffered a lot. Following this, in 2000, he was diagnosed with multiple organ dysfunction syndromes, and later, he died on 25th March 2001 in Mallya Hospital, Banglore.
Career Journey
The veteran actor started his film career with low-budget movies in which he portrayed negative roles. He made a debut movie “Kaadina Rahasya” for which he earned huge success and fame. After making a debut, he worked in stunt, action, and thriller movies as well and made a special place in the hearts of his fans.
After gaining much popularity and success, he then appeared in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam movies. He worked in more than 450 movies. His excellent acting prowess in negative roles earned him the name Kannada Prabhakar.
He made his broad career as he tried hands-on the production side and produced various movies, such as; “Mahendra Varma”, “Mister Mahesh Kumar” and others. Both films became the biggest box-office hits. In the mid-1980s, Prabhakar became the most famous, and sought-after actor and acted in various emotional movies in which he worked alongside Arathi, Bharati, Jayamala. And Jayanthi. While in the most-watched, super hit movie “Inqilaab” starring Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan opposite late iconic star, Sridevi, he played the role of criminal named Anil Raj.
He was a philanthropist and worked for many charitable organizations. He made donations during his film career.
Personal life
Tiger Prabhakar married thrice. From his first wife, he had 2 daughters and a son. He then married Jayamala, who is also an actress, and had a daughter together. While his third wife, Anju had a son together but his second and third marriage ended in divorces.
