Renuka Chouhan is a film and television actress, hailing from India. She mainly works in the Tamil film and entertainment industry. She is popularly known for the lead role of Premi in the television serial named “Premi” which was directed by K.Balachander. Apart from this, she has worked in Hindi and Malayalam cinema to mark her name in the industry.
She was born on 17th January 1964, Srirangam, India. After the death of her father, she along with her family moved to Chennai where she looked for work. Later, she got an opportunity to work as a drama artiste with the Komal Swaminathan theatre group.
Career
After moving to Chennai, she got work to perform as an artist with the Komal Swaminathan theatre group. In 1989, she made a film debut named “Samsara Sangeetham” which was directed by T.Rajender. It was a Tamil movie for which she got much recognition and became popular among fans. Later, she appeared in few episodes in Telugu Doordarshan at a young age.
Renuka Chouhan has made her career broad in the field of acting. She has worked in more than 75 Malayalam movies and also worked in few Tamil movies as well.
She credits her friend Geetha who helped her to meet with the directed K. Balachander and later she cast in the movie.
Alongside this, Renuka Chouhan made her career on the television and appeared in various television serials. She played a supporting role in the television serial named “Kaialavu Manasu” which was directed by K. Balachander. Later, she appeared in the television serial “Kadhal Pagadai” in which she played a supporting role.
In 2009, she made her Bollywood debut movie “Monsoon Wedding” and also appeared in a Tamil movie “Ayan” for which she got positive reviews.
However, she appeared in various movies and television serials as a lead and supporting actress for which she got huge acclaim.
