Daryl Karolat aka Tyler Mane (born December 8, 1966) in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. He is a Canadian actor and a retired professional wrestler.
Mane is best known for the roles he played in X-Men, Troy, in the remake of Halloween and Halloween part 2. He performs as supervillain Blackstar in the 2021 Netflix limited series Jupiter’s Legacy.
Career Journey
Tyler Mane graduated from City Park Collegiate Institute. As a teenager, he traveled to Calgary, where he trained shortly with Stu Hart. In 1986, he began training with Red Bastien, who is an American professional wrestler. After that, he completed further training with Mando Guerrero.
In the same year, he began his career under the name “Skywalker Nitron” in Canada. He wrestled as Skyhigh Lee in Portland Wrestling, billed from California in 1987. After that, he wrestled in South Africa. Later, he got invited to wrestle at Joint Promotions in the UK in November of the same year.
The next year, he traveled to New Japan Pro-Wrestling as “Gully Gaspar”. He appeared in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) as the bodyguard of the tag team Doom along with Woman late in 1989.
Mane signed with World Championship Wrestling, under the name “Big Sky” and teamed with Vinnie Vegas in 1993. When his partner Vinnie left WCW to become Diesel in the WWF. Mane left limbo and WCW by the end of the year. The next year, he joined Herb Abrams’ Universal Wrestling Federation and became the only UWF MGM Grand Champion, defeating Steve Ray to win the vacant title. After Abrams’ death and the eventual breakup of the UWF in 1996, Mane retired.
